Character recognition:

Plant: perennial herbaceous flowering plant; up to 70 - 140 cm in height;
Root: rhizomatous;
Stem: erect, cylindrical, finely ribbed, simple or branched at the top, with intensely aromatic fragrance;
Leaves: lower leaves are long petiolate, upper ones short-petiolate, ovate or broad lanceolate, glabrous, 1-2 pinnate section;
Flowers: hermaphrodite; roundish, flat-topped, button-like, yellow flower heads are produced in terminal clusters;
Fruits: obovata achenes; crowned by a low membranous ring.
